Book your private transfer to / from Dubai Al Maktoum Airport with Airport Executive
Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), also known as Dubai World Central, is Dubai's second international airport, located in Jebel Ali approximately 37 kilometres southwest of the city centre. Currently serving a growing range of carriers and routes, the airport operates from a single, compact passenger terminal that offers a notably calmer and more straightforward travel experience than the crowded corridors of Dubai International (DXB). A major expansion programme is underway, with the first phase scheduled for completion in 2032, which will eventually make DWC one of the largest airports in the world.
Airport Executive provides professional, chauffeur-driven transfers to and from DWC, connecting you to Dubai Marina, Downtown Dubai, the Palm Jumeirah, DIFC, Deira and Abu Dhabi. Our drivers monitor your flight in real time, meet you in the arrivals area with a name board and assist with your luggage from the moment you land.
With over 30 years of private transfer experience, we offer a fleet ranging from executive saloons through to spacious luxury MPVs for groups. Prices are fixed at the time of booking, with no hidden charges and no surprises at the end of your journey.

Meeting Your Driver at Al Maktoum International Airport
Arrivals
Al Maktoum International Airport operates a single passenger terminal. The arrivals hall is located on the ground floor on the west side of the building. After clearing UAE immigration and collecting your luggage from the baggage claim hall, you will exit directly into the main arrivals area where ground transportation and meet and greet services are based.
Your Airport Executive driver will be waiting in the arrivals area with a name board displaying your name. The terminal is compact and easy to navigate, so you will not need to walk far from the baggage reclaim to reach your driver. If you have pre-arranged a Marhaba meet and greet service, a representative will meet you airside after passport control and escort you through to your driver.
Departures
For departures, your driver will drop you at the main terminal entrance on the departures level. Check-in desks are located to the right side of the building, and the compact layout means check-in, security and the departure gates are all within easy walking distance of the entrance. Your driver will assist with luggage to the terminal doors before you proceed to your airline's check-in area.
Airport Extras at Al Maktoum International Airport
Lounges
Marhaba Lounge
The Marhaba Lounge is the only passenger lounge currently operating at Al Maktoum International Airport. It is located airside on Level 1, past security and passport control, and is open 24 hours a day. The lounge offers a self-service food and drinks selection, complimentary Wi-Fi, charging points, comfortable seating and flight monitors. It does not have dedicated sleep facilities.
Access is available to Priority Pass cardholders at no additional charge, subject to capacity. Walk-in access for non-cardholders is available for approximately £33 per person, payable at the lounge reception. The Marhaba Lounge is operated by Marhaba Services, which also offers meet and greet and porter services bookable separately through their website or at the service desk in the terminal.
Fast Track Security
There is no official airport-operated fast track lane at Al Maktoum International Airport. If priority processing is important for your schedule, third-party airport assistance providers including Marhaba Services and Airssist can be pre-booked. These services typically include a landside greeting, assistance with check-in, priority queuing at security and, depending on the package, airside accompaniment to your gate. We recommend booking directly with these providers before travel if this is a requirement.
Luggage Storage
Dedicated left luggage facilities at Al Maktoum International Airport have not been confirmed at the time of writing. We recommend checking directly with the airport or Marhaba Services before travel if you need to store bags. For longer-term storage in Dubai, a number of luggage storage providers operate in the city and can be booked in advance online.
Dining
Al Maktoum International Airport has a small selection of food and drink outlets across both the landside and airside areas of the terminal. As the airport expands, this offering is expected to grow considerably.
McDonald's is available in both the landside arrivals area and airside in the departures zone, offering a familiar option before or after your flight.
Costa Coffee operates in the arrivals area and in the departures lounge, providing hot drinks, cold beverages and light snacks. It is a convenient choice for passengers waiting for connections or for those meeting arrivals.
Starbucks is available airside in the departures area, with the full standard menu of coffees, teas and food options to suit most tastes.
Caribou Coffee is a further coffee shop option airside, with a menu of hot drinks and snacks in a comfortable lounge-style setting, popular with business travellers on morning and early afternoon flights.
Shopping
Dubai Duty Free operates an airside retail concession at Al Maktoum International Airport, with a curated selection of international spirits, wines, perfumes, cosmetics, tobacco, confectionery and electronics available to departing passengers. While the selection is more limited than at Dubai International (DXB), the quality of brands stocked remains strong and duty-free pricing on spirits and perfume in particular makes it a worthwhile stop before departure. A small selection of retail and convenience units are also present landside near check-in.
Timing Tips for Al Maktoum International Airport
Arrivals
Al Maktoum International Airport is a compact, single-terminal facility currently handling a modest volume of traffic. Immigration and baggage claim are generally efficient as a result.
For international arrivals, plan for approximately 30 to 45 minutes from touchdown to meeting your driver in the arrivals hall. This accounts for taxiing, disembarkation, walking to passport control, UAE immigration clearance and baggage collection. During peak arrival waves or on busier travel days, allow up to 60 minutes to be comfortable. Your Airport Executive driver will monitor your flight and adjust their timing accordingly.
UK citizens do not require a visa to enter the United Arab Emirates. A visitor visa is issued on arrival, valid for 30 days, at no charge. There is no advance application required. Other nationals should check the latest UAE entry requirements before travel.
Departures
For international departures, arriving at Al Maktoum Airport two hours before your scheduled departure time is sufficient in most cases. The terminal is compact and check-in, security and the departure gates are all within easy reach of one another, so there is no need for a significant buffer beyond the standard two-hour window.
If you are travelling during a major public holiday period or if your flight coincides with a busy wave of departures, adding a further 30 minutes as a precaution is advisable. Dubai's public holiday travel peaks typically fall around Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and the UAE National Day period in late November and December.

Top Attractions Near Al Maktoum International Airport
Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai
The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world, rising 828 metres above Downtown Dubai and visible from across the emirate. The observation decks on floors 124 and 148 offer extraordinary panoramic views, and the base of the tower is surrounded by the Dubai Fountain, the world's largest choreographed fountain system, which performs nightly over the Burj Khalifa Lake. Downtown Dubai as a district is polished and walkable, with a concentration of hotels, restaurants and luxury retail that reflects the ambition of the city as a whole.
Dubai Mall and Dubai Aquarium
The Dubai Mall is the world's largest shopping mall by total area, with over 1,200 retail outlets, an Olympic-size ice rink, a dedicated fashion avenue and a broad selection of restaurants and cafes on multiple levels. At its centre, the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo houses one of the largest suspended aquariums on earth, with a 10-million-litre tank home to thousands of aquatic animals including sand tiger sharks and giant rays. Even visitors with no interest in shopping find the sheer scale of the place worth an afternoon.
Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach Residence
Dubai Marina is a purpose-built waterfront district of towers, promenades, restaurants and superyacht berths, centred on a two-kilometre artificial canal lined with outdoor dining terraces. The adjacent Jumeirah Beach Residence, known as JBR, extends this atmosphere to the beach, with The Walk offering a relaxed open-air strip of cafes, restaurants and boutiques directly on the Arabian Gulf. For an evening out, a weekend brunch or a sunset by the water, Dubai Marina and JBR remain two of the city's most consistently popular destinations.
Palm Jumeirah and Atlantis The Palm
The Palm Jumeirah is the most recognisable man-made island in the world, an artificial palm-shaped peninsula stretching into the Arabian Gulf and home to some of Dubai's most prestigious hotels, residences and restaurants. At its apex stands Atlantis The Palm, a resort that has become an icon of Dubai luxury travel, with Aquaventure Waterpark, a private beach, multiple Michelin-starred restaurants and the Atlantis Aquaventure thrills that draw families and couples from around the world. The views back to the Dubai skyline from the Palm fronds are among the most photographed in the region.
Desert Safari and Dune Bashing
The Dubai desert is one of the most accessible from any major city in the world, with the vast red dunes of the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve reachable in under an hour from the city. A classic evening desert safari combines dune bashing in a 4x4, sandboarding, camel riding and a barbecue dinner under the stars in a Bedouin-style camp. Sunrise safaris offer a quieter and more contemplative experience for those who prefer the desert before the heat of the day. For a Dubai trip of almost any length, an evening in the dunes is among the most memorable things the emirate offers.
Gold Souk, Spice Souk and Dubai Creek
The oldest part of Dubai sits around the Creek, a natural seawater inlet that once made the city a trading hub between Persia, India and the Gulf. The Gold Souk in Deira contains over 300 jewellers displaying a dazzling quantity of 18- and 22-carat gold jewellery, and is one of the largest gold markets in the world. A short walk away, the Spice Souk fills the air with the scent of saffron, cardamom, frankincense and dried rose petals. An abra, the traditional wooden ferry, crosses the Creek between Deira and Bur Dubai for just a few dirhams and offers one of the most atmospheric ten-minute journeys in the region.
Dubai Frame
The Dubai Frame is a 150-metre-tall architectural landmark shaped like an enormous picture frame, positioned at the edge of Zabeel Park between the old and new parts of the city. The glass-floored sky bridge at the top offers simultaneous views of historic Deira and Bur Dubai on one side and the modern skyline of Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown on the other, making it the most neatly symbolic vantage point in the entire city. It is one of Dubai's newer landmarks and has established itself quickly as a must-visit attraction for first-time visitors.
Miracle Garden and Global Village
Open from approximately November to May each year, the Dubai Miracle Garden is the world's largest natural flower garden, with over 150 million flowers arranged into sculpted displays, arches, walkways and large-scale installations including a life-size replica of an Emirates A380 covered entirely in living blooms. Adjacent to it, Global Village is an enormous outdoor cultural and entertainment park that brings together the food, retail and performances of over 90 countries under one themed site, open across the same winter season. Both attractions are best visited from October through April, when Dubai's outdoor climate is at its most pleasant.

Frequently Asked Questions
Al Maktoum Airport Transfer FAQs
Where will my driver meet me at Al Maktoum International Airport?
Your Airport Executive driver will be waiting in the arrivals area on the ground floor of the terminal building, holding a name board with your name. The terminal is compact and the arrivals area is easy to reach directly from the baggage claim hall. If you have pre-arranged a Marhaba meet and greet service, a Marhaba representative will meet you airside after passport control and escort you through to your driver.
Do I need a visa to enter the UAE as a UK citizen?
UK citizens do not require a visa to visit the United Arab Emirates. A tourist visa is issued free of charge on arrival at the airport, valid for 30 days and extendable for a further 30 days. No advance application or paperwork is required. Citizens of most Western European and Commonwealth countries are similarly eligible for visa-on-arrival access, though we recommend checking the UAE's current entry requirements for your specific nationality before travel.
How far is Al Maktoum Airport from Dubai city centre?
Al Maktoum International Airport is located in Jebel Ali, approximately 37 kilometres southwest of Dubai city centre. By road, the journey to Downtown Dubai typically takes around 40 to 50 minutes depending on traffic conditions. Dubai Marina and the Palm Jumeirah are closer, generally reachable in 30 to 40 minutes. Travel times can vary significantly during morning and evening rush hours on Sheikh Zayed Road.
Is Al Maktoum Airport the same as Dubai International Airport?
No. Dubai has two commercial airports. Dubai International Airport (DXB) is the larger and more established hub, located east of the city centre and currently home to Emirates, flydubai and the majority of long-haul international carriers. Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) is Dubai's second airport, located in Jebel Ali to the southwest, and is currently served by a smaller selection of airlines. A major expansion is underway at DWC that will significantly increase its capacity and carrier base over the coming decade. Please check your ticket carefully to confirm which airport your flight is using before booking your transfer.
