Book your private transfer to / from Basel Mulhouse Airport with Airport Executive
EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL) is one of Europe's most distinctive airports, and the only one in the world operated jointly by two sovereign countries. Located in Saint-Louis, France, just a few minutes from the Swiss border, it serves Basel, Mulhouse and the German city of Freiburg im Breisgau. The airport sits at the meeting point of three nations, making it the natural gateway to a region unlike anywhere else in Europe.
Airport Executive provides professional, chauffeur-driven transfers to and from BSL, taking you smoothly from the arrivals hall to Basel city, Zürich, Bern, the Alsace wine route, the Black Forest and further into Switzerland and beyond. Our drivers monitor your flight in real time, meet you at the correct arrivals exit with a name board and assist with your luggage from the moment you arrive.
With over 30 years of private transfer experience, we offer a fleet ranging from executive saloons through to spacious luxury MPVs. Prices are fixed at the time of booking, with no hidden charges and no surprises at the end of your journey.
Why Choose Airport Executive for Your Basel-Mulhouse Transfer
EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse has a unique layout that sets it apart from every other airport. Its arrivals hall has two separate exits, one for Switzerland and one for France, and using the wrong one with heavy luggage is best avoided. Our drivers know the airport well and will confirm in advance which exit to use based on your final destination, so you step off the flight knowing exactly where to go.
- Flight tracking included as standard, so your driver adjusts for delays without any extra calls from you.
- Meet and greet service at the correct arrivals exit, with a name board and luggage assistance.
- Fixed prices confirmed at booking. No surge pricing, no waiting time charges for standard delays.
- Professional, licensed chauffeurs with over 30 years of private transfer experience behind us.
- Transfers across all three countries. We cover Swiss, French and German destinations from BSL.
- Vehicles available from economy saloons to First Class luxury and executive MPVs for groups.
Meeting Your Driver at Basel-Mulhouse Airport
Arrivals
The arrivals hall at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse is on Level 2, the ground floor of the terminal building. After clearing passport control and collecting your luggage, you will reach the baggage claim hall, from which there are two exits.
The Swiss Exit (Sortie Suisse / Ausgang Schweiz) is for passengers travelling to Basel, Zürich, Bern and German destinations via Switzerland. The French Exit (Sortie France) is for passengers heading to Mulhouse, Colmar and Strasbourg. It is important to use the correct exit, as once you have passed through, re-entering the baggage claim hall requires going up a floor and crossing via the public corridor between sectors, which is cumbersome with luggage.
Your Airport Executive driver will confirm your designated exit when you book, based on your final destination. They will be waiting with a name board at the appropriate arrivals exit, ready to greet you and take care of your bags.
Departures
For departures, your driver will drop you at the terminal entrance on Level 3, where check-in is divided into Halls 1 through 4. The Swiss and French sectors share the same terminal building, and signage from the drop-off point is clear. Your driver will assist with luggage to the entrance before you proceed to your airline's check-in hall.
Airport Extras at Basel-Mulhouse
Lounges
EuroAirport Sky View Lounge by Aspire
The Sky View Lounge is EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse's flagship lounge and one of the most celebrated independent airport lounges in Europe, having been named a Global Winner at the Priority Pass Lounge of the Year Awards on multiple occasions. Spanning 1,700 square metres across three levels, it is located airside next to the Duty Free shop. The lounge features a self-service food and drink offer, a Sky Bar with panoramic runway views, an outdoor Sky Terrace, complimentary Wi-Fi, charging stations, flight monitors and private meeting rooms available on reservation. It is open daily from 05:00 to 21:00.
Access is available to Priority Pass, DragonPass and Dreamfolks cardholders, subject to capacity. Day passes can be purchased directly at the lounge reception or pre-booked online for approximately £32 per person.
EuroAirport Sky Cafe by Aspire
The Sky Cafe is the second lounge within the Sky Lounges by Aspire complex, offering a more relaxed and informal environment. It provides complimentary hot meals and snacks, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages, and comfortable seating with Wi-Fi. Access is available to Priority Pass, DragonPass and Dreamfolks cardholders. Guests of both lounges can also access the Sky Terrace, a rare outdoor terrace with views directly across the runway.
Fast Track Security
Fast track security at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse is available through third-party concierge and VIP airport assistance services, which can be arranged in advance. These typically include a landside meet and greet, priority access through the security lane and, where possible, expedited processing at passport control. There is no official airport-operated fast track product at BSL. For standard travel, security queues are generally short outside of peak summer months. If fast track matters to your schedule, we recommend booking through a concierge provider in advance.
Luggage Storage
There is no dedicated luggage storage facility inside the EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse terminal. If you need to store bags before or after your flight, left luggage services are available at Basel SBB railway station in the city centre, approximately five miles from the airport. Services such as LuggageHero and Bounce also offer storage at partner locations near the airport. We recommend confirming availability and hours directly before travel.
Dining
EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse has dining options on both the landside and airside sections of the terminal.
Hoppy brings the concept of the traditional beer garden indoors, with a relaxed atmosphere, local and regional beers and a menu of satisfying food. It is located airside in the departure area and is a popular choice for evening flights.
Rossopomodoro offers Neapolitan-style pizza and pasta airside, with an authentic Italian menu suited to passengers looking for a proper sit-down meal before departure.
Starbucks is available on Level 2 of the terminal for coffees and light bites, open to both departing passengers and those meeting arrivals.
Le Chalet is a Swiss-themed food concept situated in front of the terminal building on the landside, serving seasonal street food in a relaxed setting that is particularly well suited to passengers with time before check-in opens.
Sky Bar is an airside cocktail bar with panoramic views across the runway, located within the Sky Lounges complex and accessible to all departing passengers. It combines expert mixology with one of the most striking vantage points in the terminal.
Shopping
Duty-free shopping at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse is operated by Avolta, with a well-stocked airside store offering spirits, perfume, cosmetics, confectionery and luxury goods. Swiss chocolate and regional Alsatian specialities make for strong local gifts. Before security, Relay in the French sector and kKiosk in the Swiss sector both carry travel essentials, books, press, snacks and local products on Level 3.
Timing Tips for Basel-Mulhouse Airport
Arrivals
EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse is a single-terminal airport and immigration queues are generally manageable outside of the summer peak.
If you are travelling within the Schengen Area, plan for approximately 20 to 30 minutes from landing to meeting your driver in arrivals.
If you are arriving from outside the Schengen Area, including from the United Kingdom, allow 40 to 60 minutes from touchdown. The airport sits in France and operates under Schengen border rules. From October 2025, the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) requires non-EU nationals, including British and American travellers, to provide biometric data (facial scan and fingerprints) on their first Schengen entry. Initial registration at EES kiosks can add meaningful processing time on your first visit. Your Airport Executive driver will monitor your flight and account for any delays accordingly.
Departures
For Schengen flights, arriving at the airport two hours before your scheduled departure is sufficient for check-in, security and any passport formalities.
For non-Schengen departures, or if you are a non-EU national requiring full passport control processing on exit, allow two and a half to three hours before your flight. The busiest periods at BSL are July, August and December, and Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings typically see the longest queues. If your departure falls in these windows, add an extra 30 minutes as a precaution.
