According to a new study published by the Global Business Travel Association last week, researchers believe the business travel experience has recently been most heavily affected by mobile technology and consumer travel habits related to generational change.
The study, which polled over 400 UK business travellers, highlighted the key emerging habits as the incorporation of mobile technology, the use of social media, and the sharing economy.
The use of mobile apps from suppliers was also deemed to have enhanced the overall travel experience by more than half of all respondents.
Access to WIFI was the one thing most commonly agreed that companies should offer to all business travellers, and was viewed as being more important than food or flight/hotel upgrades.
The GBTA regional VIP EMEA Catherine McGavock had the following to say:
“Wifi has become an indispensable technology for UK business travellers and a majority believe mobile apps enhance their experience on the road. This comes as no surprise in today’s always-connected world and business travellers will likely continue to demand more ways to allow them to stay connected 24/7.”
